On Friday, March 13, Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) – a 15-year member of the Uniondale Fire Department – honored Nassau County’s Chief Fire Marshal and County Fire Coordinator Mike Uttaro for being recognized by the Building Inspectors Association of Nassau County (BIANCO). The organization honored Uttaro for “dedication and service have directly enhanced the safety, preparedness and resilience of our communities” in the realms of code enforcement, fire prevention education, and leadership in emergency preparedness and disaster response.
