WHAT: Nassau County Legislators Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre), Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) and Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) are joining forces with their colleagues in government and community organizations to support National Night Out at Denton Green in Hempstead Village on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
For more than four decades, National Night Out events have been held in thousands of communities each year on the first Tuesday in August to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
“Thanks to the hard work of so many community partners, National Night Out is an evening where families from coast to coast have fun and meet the local law enforcement, first responders, and civic organizations that serve and strengthen our communities,” Legislator Davis said. “I look forward to another outstanding event in Hempstead Village and encourage you to join us in supporting this great American tradition.”
