(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) applauded Governor Kathy Hochul’s delivery of significant aid to the Incorporated Village of Hempstead through the State’s FY 2027 Temporary Municipal Assistance (TMA) program.
Under the formula released on Thursday, Feb. 19, Hempstead Village will receive $135,729 as part of a $150 million statewide program that seeks to ease cost burdens faced by cities, towns, and villages as they continue to provide exceptional services and preserve quality of life.
“Hempstead Village is undergoing a period of extraordinary growth, and these additional state funds will play an important role in providing the resources necessary for bolstering core services that residents rely upon each day,” Legislator Nicks said. “I thank Governor Hochul and her team for supporting smart initiatives that protect taxpayers’ wallets and enhance quality of life in the communities of District 5 and our entire region.”
