
(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) joined the leaders, coaches, and supporters of the Uniondale Police Athletic League (PAL) in celebrating their Thursday, March 12 Night of Gratitude Coaches Appreciation Dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant in Garden City. Since 1940, the Uniondale PAL has pursued a mission of fostering positive relationships between youth and law enforcement through organized sports and activities. Today, the organization supports more than 700 children ranging from age 5 to 16.
“Using sports as a valuable teaching tool, the Uniondale PAL has worked tirelessly to enrich the lives of our community’s youth and equip them with skills and experiences that will serve them well for a lifetime,” Legislator Nicks said. “I am so grateful to all of the coaches for giving so freely of themselves to help develop our future leaders, and I thank Uniondale PAL Board President Michele Walker and her amazing colleagues for their continued leadership.”
