(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) proudly joined the South Shore Guidance Center at Freeport’s Cow Meadow Park on Saturday, May 17 for the organization’s annual Spring Fling Dog Walk. The event was filled with games, face painting and raffles (as well as plenty of adorable four-legged friends!) in support of mental wellness.
“Since Coco joined our family, I have seen firsthand how much joy, laughter and love a canine companion can bring to a home – and the mental health benefits are undeniable,” Legislator Koslow said. “We all give this event a definitive ‘two paws up,’ and I thank the South Shore Guidance Center for all they do to improve the health of our community!”
“Far too often we underestimate the intuitive qualities of animals and their ability to hone in our mental state and bring us comfort in times of trouble,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “This event shines a light upon a key holistic way of improving mental health, and I thank the leaders of the South Shore Guidance Center for their important work.”
