(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) proudly joined the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at Hofstra University on Saturday, Oct. 10 for Alpha Merit Badge University, an immersive leadership workshop dedicated to increasing the number of Eagle Scouts from underserved communities. “For generations of young leaders, Scouting has been a cherished pathway to advancement, and organizations like Alpha Phi Alpha are doing so much to ensure that these wonderful opportunities are accessible to every family,” Legislator Nicks said. “I applaud them for uniting local stakeholders behind this important community-building endeavor.”
