WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) and the Kiwanis Club of Uniondale United are joining forces with Harvest for the World, the Squad Williams Foundation and Viper Collision to host a “Trunk or Treat” Halloween celebration in the parking lot across from the Uniondale Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Participating residents are invited to pre-register their vehicles and prepare their decorated Halloween vehicles in the designated parking lot, where they will give out candy and other goodies such as toys, pencils and stickers to trick-or-treaters. Families are invited to join in the fun, and adults and children alike are encouraged to wear costumes for these festivities in this safe, supervised, and welcoming environment.
Food items must be individually wrapped and sealed by the manufacturer; fruit and loose foods/candies, such as loose jellybeans and candy corn, are not permitted; candies that can be unwrapped and rewrapped are not permitted either. Participants are asked to only bring allergy-friendly snacks that do not contain peanuts or tree nuts of any kind.
“With spooky season now upon us, I am so happy to see how community organizations like the Uniondale Kiwanis Club are stepping up to create inviting spaces for families to make Halloween memories,” Legislator Nicks said. “I hope you’ll join us with your kids and your afternoon for a safe afternoon of trunk-or-treating, right here in our own backyard!”
