WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) is partnering with the Nassau County Police Department’s Fifth Precinct and community partners to celebrate National Night Out at Rath Park in Franklin Square from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

For more than four decades, National Night Out events are held in thousands of communities on the first Tuesday in August as a crime prevention and awareness initiative to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing them together with residents in a safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere. At Rath Park, scheduled attractions include games, prizes, food and more.

“Not only are they fun for the entire family, National Night Out events help to strengthen the bonds between our police and the people they take an oath to serve and protect. The relationships that we build empower all of us to work together to make our communities safer and more vibrant,” Legislator Solages said. “I encourage everyone to join us at Rath Park for a great evening with something for everyone to enjoy.”
