(WESTBURY, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) was honored by Operation Get Ahead with the organization’s Community Service Award during its 36th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 15.
Legislative colleagues Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) and Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) were among his colleagues in government in attendance at Verdi’s of Westbury to congratulate the evening’s nine honorees.
“It was humbling and gratifying to be honored by Operation Get Ahead during this amazing event – one dedicated to honoring the remarkable legacy of Dr. King,” Legislator Solages said. “Thank you to Executive Director Tina Hodge Bowles and her entire team for recognizing my commitment to the community, which is rooted in the shared commitment to service, equity, and uplifting others – the same values Dr. King lived and led by every day of his life.”
