(SOUTH FLORAL PARK, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) secured committee approval for a $427,803 Community Revitalization Project (CRP) grant that will fund the purchase and construction of the Village of South Floral Park’s fire training tower for its first responders.
“In less than two weeks on Sept. 20, the South Floral Park Fire Department will celebrate 100 years of selfless, courageous service, and we owe it to each of our first responders to give them the resources that will keep them safe and prepare them to excel when responding to emergencies,” Legislator Solages said. “I thank my Rules committee colleagues for their unanimous bipartisan support, and I look forward to this vital public safety investment receiving similar support in the full Legislature.”
The grant is expected receive final approval from the full Nassau County Legislature during its upcoming Monday, Sept. 29 session.
