(GREAT NECK, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) joined the community at the Grandbois Youth Empowerment Mission Gala on Saturday, April 12 to congratulate Seraphina Scott, of Brooklyn, Gaelle Alcindor, of New York, and Aaron Bailey, of Queens Village, for earning the Kevin Simon Glaudin Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded to pre-law and law school students in honor of Kevin Simon Glaudin, who battled a brain tumor while earning his law degree from the University of Southern California USC Law. He tragically passed away in 2023 at age 26. Since its inception, the organization has awarded tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships.
“In just 26 years, Kevin Simon Glaudin achieved so many of his dreams, and his example is a true inspiration to us all as we battle to overcome the challenges that life throws into our paths,” Legislator Solages said. “Thank you to Dr. Maragrett Alexandre and everyone at the Grandbois program for illuminating Kevin’s legacy through this program – and to all of our honorees, I wish you tremendous success in your studies and your future law careers!”
