(FRANKLIN SQUARE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) partnered with the Nassau County Police Department’s Fifth Precinct and community leaders to celebrate National Night Out at Rath Park in Franklin Square on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

For more than four decades, National Night Out events have been held in thousands of communities on the first Tuesday in August to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing them together with residents in a safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere.

“National Night Out events strengthen the lines of communication between law enforcement professionals and the people that they are sworn to serve and protect – and these stronger bonds make all of us safer,” Legislator Solages said. “I thank the communities of the Fifth Precinct for making this year’s event such an enjoyable gathering that celebrates the spirit of truly collaborative and holistic neighborhood-powered policing.”
