(ELMONT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) secured the unanimous passage of two Community Revitalization Program (CRP) grants, totaling $202,420, for the Elmont Union Free School District on Monday, July 27. The funding will be applied toward replacing the playground at the Covert Avenue Elementary School.
“Playgrounds create organic opportunities for our children to build friendships, engage in healthy outdoor activities, develop critical skills, and most of all, have fun as part of a greater community,” Legislator Solages. “I am excited to have secured funding which will equip the Elmont Union Free School District to create a safe, modern playground that will serve the students of Covert Avenue Elementary and neighboring families well for many years to come.”
