
(QUEENS VILLAGE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) had the privilege of officiating the Sunday, Aug. 17 swearing-in ceremony for the Haitian Americans In Law Enforcement Organization (HALEFO)’s Board of Trustees. As part of the ceremony, Legislator Solages administered the oath of office to Sergeant Kethly Jean, who is the first woman to lead HALEFO as the organization’s President.
“Sergeant Jean is an experienced law enforcement professional who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to public safety and the well-being to her fellow officers,” Legislator Solages said. “As the first Haitian American to be elected to the Nassau County Legislature and the son of an NYPD officer, it was truly an honor to swear in HALEFO’s board and celebrate this historic moment for this outstanding organization.”
