Legislator Solages Supports Diana Sanon Foundation Gala

Solages - Sanon Foundation - 2

(VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) proudly attended the Diana Sanon Organization for Community Unity and Civic Power’s annual Mental Health Awareness Gala on Friday, June 26. Held at the American Legion in Valley Stream, the event raised funds for initiatives that seek to ensure every individual – regardless of gender, race, culture, or background –has the support, resources, and opportunities needed to live a fulfilling, healthy, and empowered life.

The Diana Sanon Organization for Community Unity and Civic Power was founded in 2025 in loving memory of Diana Sanon, a devoted mother, a loving sister, and a cherished daughter known for her generous heart, warm spirit, and the joy she felt in caring for others.

“Even though her life was cut tragically short, Diana Sanon made a tremendous impact on those around her, and her legacy continues today through the work of the foundation that bears her name,” Legislator Solages said. “I stand with her mother, Claire Leon, and all of her friends and loved ones in support of the Diana Sanon Foundation’s important work, and I was grateful to see that this year’s gala was so warmly embraced by the community.”

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in America. If you are in need of services, contact the Nassau County Department of Social Services at 516-227-8519 or visit  https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/1895/Social-Services.
