WHAT – To help local students have a strong start to the 2025-26 school year, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) is teaming up with the Green Acres Mall and community partners to host a back-to-school giveaway at Elmont Road Park on Saturday, Aug. 30. Students who pre-register will receive backpacks during the free event while supplies last; sponsors include Green Acres Mall, the Gift of Giving Foundation, Universal Interactions, Inc., Meera Empowerment, and more.
