(EAST MEADOW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) congratulated the organizers of the 13th annual Creole American Family Night at Eisenhower Park. Presented by Haitian Americans United for Progress (HAUP) and Kompa Guide on Sunday, July 12, musical performances by Legal Bon Bagay and the legendary Haitian kompas band Tabou Combo Superstars drew thousands to the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater.
“At such a critical time in the history of the Caribbean diaspora and the Haitian community in particular, it is more important than ever to embrace our heritage and celebrate our culture proudly,” Legislator Solages said. “The thousands of people who came to Eisenhower Park exemplify our shared resilience and illustrate how Nassau County and communities across America are made better and stronger by our Caribbean brothers and sisters.
