(OCEANSIDE and N. VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) recently had the pleasure of sharing in the 100th birthday celebration of World War II U.S. Navy veteran Joseph Scandaglia. Legislator Solages was invited to join him for a party held at the Oceanside senior living facility where he resides, during which he presented Mr. Scandaglia, formerly of North Valley Stream, with a Nassau County Legislature Citation in recognition of his milestone birthday and service to America.
“People like Joseph are emblematic of America’s greatest generation – the men and women whose courage saved America and the world from tyranny and evil,” Legislator Solages said. “It was an honor and a pleasure to be a part of his 100th birthday – I wish him many more years of good health and happiness!”
