WHAT - To help ensure young students have a strong start to the 2026-27 school year, Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) is partnering with the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and the Glen Cove City School District to host a backpack giveaway event outside the Landing Elementary School at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The Nassau PBA is once again furnishing the backpacks and supplies that will be distributed during the event, which is being presented with local support and assistance from the Glen Cove PBA.
“Back-to-school season is such an exciting time for families, but I know how it can be financially challenging for families in Glen Cove and communities across our County,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “That is why I am so grateful that we are continuing our partnership with the Nassau PBA and Glen Cove City Schools to provide deserving local students with everything they need to excel in the new school year!”
