(PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.) – Prior to the Monday, July 27 board Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) recently thanked Port Washington’s Benjamin Lumi and Sea Cliff’s Mia Pinto for interning in her office this summer.
Lumi, a sophomore majoring in Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis, and Pinto, a senior at North Shore High School, supported Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton and her staff as they addressed constituent concerns, prepared the caucus for Legislative sessions, coordinated social media outreach, and more.
“It is often said that there is no better way to learn a field than through hands-on experience, and that is certainly the case when it comes to the operations of local government,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It was a pleasure to have Benjamin and Mia working with my office this summer, and I am thankful to them for all of their efforts as we worked together to serve our constituents and the residents of Nassau County.”
