Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton, New York State, Present Citizen Preparedness Workshop at Glen Head American Legion
WHAT – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) is pleased to announce that the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps will host an Emergency Preparedness Workshop at Glenwood Landing American Legion Post 336 on Wednesday, July 15.
Presented by the State’s Citizen Preparedness Corps, the workshops equip residents with the tools and resources to prepare for any type of natural or man-made disaster, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Each family participating will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit filled with emergency prep essentials like a radio, flashlight, batteries, freshwater packets, food packs, heavy-duty gloves, tarp, emergency blanket, water container, glow stick and whistle.
“This year’s harsh winter reminded us all how proactive emergency preparation gives us comfort during unpredictable moments,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I am thrilled to once again be working with New York State to present a workshop in Glen Head that provides vital knowledge and resources for keeping our families safe and giving us peace of mind.”
