(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Dozens of community members joined Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) at the John J. Byrne Community Center on Tuesday, March 18 for an in-person assessment grievance workshop presented by assessment expert Jeff Gold.
During the workshop, Gold, a former member of the Nassau County Board of Assessors and a former commissioner of the Assessment Review Commission (ARC), showed property owners who disagree with their assessment how to navigate the online grievance process and dispute their assessment. The deadline to submit a grievance is Tuesday, April 1.
“Jeff Gold’s interactive workshop brought invaluable information to the community,” Legislator Nicks said. “The workshop ensured that every homeowner in attendance left with the knowledge and tools they need to potentially save money on their property taxes.”
