
(UNIONDALE, N.Y) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) proudly joined leaders in law enforcement and her colleagues in government at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence on Tuesday, May 13 to celebrate the graduation of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department Recruit Class No. 114. Thirty-four newly minted Corrections Officers, including two residents of Legislative District 2 – from left, Kevin Hicks and Andy Rodriguez, of Uniondale – embarked upon their new careers after completing 10 weeks of intense training.
“The men and women of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Nassau County Correctional Center – and their excellence contributes greatly to preserving the standard of public safety that Nassau County residents demand,” Legislator Nicks said. “Congratulations to Nassau County’s newest corrections officers – we wish you tremendous success and safety as you embark upon this vital form of public service!”
