(BALDWIN, N.Y.) - In an effort to address a shortage in blood supplies due to a decrease in donations during the COVID-19 pandemic, Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D-Freeport) partnered with the Coral House to host a community blood drive for the New York Blood Center on Wednesday, July 8. Residents joined Legislator Mulé, pictured above, in rolling up their sleeves as part of a coordinated campaign to replenish blood supplies at local hospitals. Fully-recovered COVID-19 survivors were also able to donate convalescent plasma.

“Through its regional efforts, the New York Blood Center equips our local hospitals to provide life-saving care to Nassau County residents. As we continue to safely emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential for our community to come together and make donating blood a priority,” Legislator Mulé said. “I thank the Coral House for hosting the drive and all of the residents who took time out of their day to give the gift of life.”
