(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) celebrated with the graduates of the Woodward Children’s Center in Freeport on Thursday, June 26.

Since opening its doors in 1957 under the direction of Freeporter Gertrude Berman, Woodward has been providing inclusive and supportive educational services for students with special needs so that each graduate is equipped with “the social and emotional skills necessary to face life’s challenges” and a “cutting edge education to meet the demands of the future.”

“There is so much to be grateful for as we celebrate graduation season across Nassau County – but each year at the Woodward Children’s Center is especially meaningful,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I applaud each and every one of these remarkable students for their outstanding accomplishments and thank their families and the wonderful team of educators at Woodward for their dedication and support.”

“For generations, the Woodward Children’s Center has provided deserving students opportunities to excel scholastically and gain the skills that will empower them to thrive in the future,” Legislator Koslow said. “It is always a pleasure to celebrate the inspiring achievements of such resilient, dedicated, and hard-working students and congratulate them and their families for this tremendous accomplishment.”
