(ROSLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) and Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) joined the Jewish Community Relations Council - Long Island (JCRC-LI) on Tuesday, Oct. 27 for the seventh annual Kosher Taste of Long Island - a culinary celebration of Jewish culture and cuisine held at Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn Heights.
Deputy Minority Leader Drucker and Legislator Nicks joined guests in sampling Long Island’s best Glatt kosher food, wine and spirits from Long Island’s top restaurants, markets, bakeries, caterers and more – all while socializing and supporting JCRC-LI’s efforts to strengthen community relations on Long Island.
“This year’s event was truly bittersweet, knowing this would be my last year attending this wonderful event as a legislator, and it was especially meaningful to see so many familiar faces supporting such a wonderful evening,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I’m incredibly grateful to Mindy Perlmutter and the entire JCRC-LI team for yet another memorable evening and the wonderful work you do to bring our community together!”
“JCRC-LI does so much to foster greater understanding between Long Islanders across the spectrum of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds, and as a proud representative of some of Nassau County’s largest and most vibrant Jewish communities, their partnership in the fight to end antisemitism is critically important,” Legislator Nicks said. “I am tremendously proud to support JCRC-LI and I am eager to expand our collaborative work on the path to a more united and accepting society for all.”
