
(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined supporters of the Mid Island YJCC on Wednesday, Aug. 26 for a community barbecue celebrating a $10 million donation from Dr. Harvey Manes and the Manes Peace Prize Foundation – a “transformational” philanthropic gift that will support major projects like the FlexFit studio refresh as the JCC celebrates its 70th anniversary.
“As a lifelong Plainview resident, my family and I have witnessed the evolution and growth of the Mid Island Y JCC, and we continue to enjoy the benefits of the outstanding services that they provide,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “This remarkable contribution from Dr. Manes and his Peace Prize Foundation will surely propel the Mid Island Y JCC into a new era of innovation that will an even stronger spirit of community. I congratulate the JCC on this transformational gift and thank Dr. Manes for supporting a cherished institution that touches so many lives throughout our region.”
