(NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined the New York State Nursing Association and Northwell nurses from Plainview, Syosset and Huntington Hospitals on Friday, Dec. 12. Outside of Northwell’s headquarters in New Hyde Park, Deputy Minority Leader Drucker and nurses rallied to demand a contract that will strengthen workplace safety, ensure equitable compensation, and enhance patient care.
“Nurses are the backbone of America’s healthcare system, and although they are on the front lines of delivering life-saving care each and every day, their needs are far too often overlooked. These healthcare heroes deserve safe workplaces and adequate staffing so they can continue providing the top-notch, diligent and compassionate care that every patient deserves,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “Nurses deserve compensation that is commensurate with the life-saving care that they provide to patients each and every day, and most of all, they deserve our respect and appreciation. That is why I will always stand with the nurses of Nassau County and our region.”
