(SYOSSET, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) once again partnered with the Nassau County Police Department’s Second Precinct to host his office’s fall “Shed the Meds” event at the Syosset Public Library on Tuesday, Oct. 13. During the event, dozens of residents filled three large garbage bags with their unwanted and/or expired prescription medications, which were collected and disposed of under the supervision of Second Precinct Problem Oriented Policing (POP) officers.
“Shed the Meds events help us to protect the environment and keep our communities safe by empowering us to conveniently and securely dispose of unwanted and expired medications in our homes,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “For the last decade, it has been my privilege to work with Second Precinct Officers Chris Lovelace, Frank Vescio, Andrew Messa and John Hadrigan, and Syosset Public Library Head of Programming Alisa Fogel and her team to bring these resources to our community, and I thank District 16 residents for enthusiastically embracing these opportunities.”
