(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) partnered with the Nassau County Police Department’s Community Affairs division to host a Friday, March 13 workshop to educate members of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Senior Citizen Club and protect them from predatory scammers.
During the event, dozens of club members were informed about the most common techniques that criminals use to steal information and funds from senior citizens. Participants received valuable resources to protect themselves and their families from scams and financial exploitation.
“During a decade in office, we have received so many calls from our constituents recounting the horrors that their families have experienced at the hands of heartless criminals who steal tremendous sums from our seniors,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “That is why I am especially thankful to our partners at the Nassau County Police Department for taking the time to empower the members of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Senior Citizen Club to protect themselves and their loved ones from scammers.”
