(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) had the honor of joining the community for the “Symphony of Hope” at Molloy University’s Madison Theatre on Thursday, March 12.
Presented in partnership with the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County, and the Long Island Concert Orchestra, the program featured internationally acclaimed violinist Simon Zhu and showcased the Violins of Hope – a collection of instruments that were played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust.
“Each of these instruments has a remarkable story, and the fact that they are back on the concert stage is a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of teaching the lessons of history for future generations,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “Thank you to all the organizers, musicians, and speakers who made the evening possible, including Avshi Weinstein and Bernie Furshpan, whose words and work help ensure that the lessons of the past are never forgotten. Through remembrance, education, and the arts, we can continue to build a more compassionate and united future.”
