(SYOSSET, JERICHO and PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) is joining forces with the Plainview-Old Bethpage, Syosset and Jericho Libraries, as well as Dr. Ava Kamenshchik of Syosset's Always Orthodontics to host his office’s fifth annual winter coat drive in support of the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.
Donors are invited to drop off new and gently used winter coats and winter accessories (gloves, hats, scarves, etc.) at the Syosset Public Library, 225 S. Oyster Bay Road, Syosset, N.Y. 11791; the Jericho Public Library, 1 Merry Lane, Jericho N.Y. 11753; the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library, 999 Old Country Road, Plainview, N.Y. 11803 and/or Always Orthodontics, 485 Underhill Blvd., Suite 306, Syosset, N.Y. 11791 during normal business hours from Friday, Nov. 20 to Sunday, Dec. 20.
“During the preceding four years, our District 16 winter coat drive has grown to become one of my favorite traditions because of its impact on deserving families and the tremendous outpouring of generosity we witness from every corner of our community,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “While this will be the last drive I lead as your Legislator, it may be the most important one we’ve ever done because the cost-of-living challenges have never been greater. Always remember that you’re giving so much more than just a coat or a pair of gloves – you’re extending a gesture of compassion and hope. It is my honor to once join forces with the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless and our outstanding team of sponsors!”
Anyone interested in supporting the coat drive can contact Deputy Minority Leader Drucker’s office at 516-571-6216 or adrucker@nassaucountyny.gov for details.
