(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined Rabbi Neil Schuman and the faith community at the Manetto Hill Jewish Center on Sunday, Sept. 6 for the rededication of a Torah through the DEAR Project: Dedicating, Educating, Advocating, and Repairing.
“This powerful project honors the victims of October 7th by adding their names to the Torah, ensuring their lives, stories, and legacies are carried forward, including our own Captain Omer Neutra,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker, who sponsored and passed legislation to rename a portion of Manetto Hill Road for Captain Neutra, said. “I am so grateful to Rabbi Schuman and the entire community for turning remembrance into action and standing proudly for Jewish faith, history and identity. In the face of hate, we choose remembrance. In the face of division, we choose unity. Together, we stand!”
