(JERICHO, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) invites community members to support Jericho Cares’ fifth annual back-to-school drive – an event through which the not-for-profit organization is seeking to raise $15,000 to provide new sneakers for deserving local students in our region.
Jericho Cares was launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, and since that time, the 501c (3) organization has formed a network of volunteers to aid families in need by providing clothing, food, and other basic supplies. They also help families celebrate birthdays and holidays and have grown to serve families within a 20-mile radius of Jericho.
“The fact that Jericho Cares has already raised more than 60 percent of their $15,000 goal is not just a testament to the tremendous generosity of our neighbors, but a tribute to this incredible organization’s passion for making a positive impact,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I’m proud to support their latest endeavor – one that will ensure young students will step into a new school year with confidence and ready to succeed.”
