(WOODBURY, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined forces with PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest for their “Power to Feed” food drive at Stop and Shop in Woodbury on Friday, Sept. 18. The penultimate drive in this year’s series occurred at a critical time when food donations tend to drop off at the end of summer, but food insecurity and hunger remain an ever-present threat to Long Island families.
“As the cost of fuel and food continues to soar across our country, food insecurity and hunger are becoming increasingly common – and during such turbulent economic times, nobody is immune from this threat,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “The work of Island Harvest to combat hunger in our communities is truly commendable and more essential than ever, and I want to thank PSEG-LI for their support of this vital initiative and local media like News 12 for spotlighting great projects like these that make a real impact.”
