(HICKSVILLE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) proudly joined the leaders of CN Guidance and Counseling Services, community leaders, and his colleagues in government on Friday, Dec. 5 for a community open house celebrating the grand opening of CN Guidance’s regional crisis center.

The facility offers 24/7 walk-in services for anyone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Resources include quick screening and assessment, psychiatric evaluation and planning, health status monitoring, medication management, outpatient detox, medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, discharge planning and aftercare coordination; 24-hour nursing staff to provide safe, clinically sound alternatives to hospital emergency rooms; peer staff with lived recovery experience to deliver person-centered, recovery-oriented support in moments of need; and emergency observation, evaluation and stabilization in a non-hospital setting for adults and children ages 5 and up.

“At every stage of Long Island’s opioid drug crisis, CN Guidance and Counseling Services has led the way on innovative programs that deliver life-saving treatment and guide people onto a path to long-term, sustainable recovery,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “This world-class crisis center is a beacon of hope for our region, and I am thrilled to see how their transformative vision has come alive. I salute Jeffrey Friedman and his entire team for their tireless efforts that led to this milestone!”
