(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) had the pleasure of sharing in the 100th birthday celebration of Zina Budofsky at Atria Plainview on Thursday, May 7, June 22. During the festivities, Deputy Minority Leader Drucker presented Mrs. Budofsky with a Nassau County Legislature Citation in recognition of her forthcoming milestone birthday, which she celebrated on May 9.
During Mrs. Budofsky’s extraordinary life, she has traveled the world, worked as a teacher and comptroller, and built a beautiful family with her late husband of 82 years, whom she married at age 19. When asked about her secret to longevity, she said: “The only thing I can control is the present. The past can’t be changed, so I don’t dwell on things. I find the positive in every situation.”
“Zina’s beautiful spirit, creativity, and positive outlook are truly inspiring, and it taught me an important lesson about the benefits of grounding your life in gratitude and living to enjoy the moment,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I can honestly say that I met a ray of sunshine, and I wish her a happy 100th birthday and many more years of good health, joy, peace, and many more beautiful moments ahead. Thank you to Emily Willens, Engage Life Director at Atria Plainview, for inviting me to be a part of this celebration!”
