(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined faith leaders, his colleagues in government, and community members at the Mid Island Y JCC on Monday, Dec. 15 for the “Shine a Light on Antisemitism” menorah lighting. Complete with music, live entertainment and giveaways, the festive celebration of the second night of Hanukkah moreover sought to dispel the darkness of antisemitism and reaffirm the community’s shared commitment to condemning and denouncing murderous, inhuman attacks on the Jewish people with a united, clear and forceful voice.
“Given the recent atrocities in Bondi Beach, Australia, it was more important than ever for our community to come together and reaffirm our unified commitment to eradicating antisemitism and all forms of hatred in our society,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “This event was a powerful reminder of our community's strength and resilience, and I was grateful to once again have been a part of this powerful event.”
