(WESTBURY, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) proudly joined the community at the Islamic Center of Long Island in Westbury on Sunday, Feb. 1 for their 22nd annual Black History Month celebration. The event showcased an array of powerful stories and presentations by leaders in government, education, civil rights advocacy, and the arts. There were also mobile museum exhibitions on display from the African American Mobile Museum and Unspoken History Treasures.
“Fostering solidary and understanding across diverse faiths and cultures is at the core of Dr. King’s blueprint for a better and more equitable world, and I can think of no better way to launch the 100th anniversary Black History Month than with ICLI’s inspiring event,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I was thrilled to be a part of it and thank everyone for their hard work and leadership in creating an event that embraces those core values.”
