(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined with his colleagues in government and the Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education on Saturday, Dec. 6 for the District’s annual legislative breakfast at the Howard B. Mattlin Middle School. During the forum, Superintendent Dr. Mary O’Meara, school board members and elected officials from the town, county and state levels discussed federal and state funding for public schools; student mental health supports; special education funding; updates to the civil service system, and other pressing issues facing public education.
“As a lifelong Plainview resident, a graduate of this district, and a father whose children’s lives were enriched tremendously by their experiences in these schools, it has always been tremendously inspiring to witness our community’s unwavering dedication to excellence in public education,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “Each year at this meeting, representatives from all levels of government and public service unite and recommit themselves to fostering the success of our students, and I thank the Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education for all they do to ensure our students continue to thrive in the classroom.”
