Thanking Port's First Responders

(PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.) Since March 2020, members of the Port Washington Volunteer Fire Department, the Fire Medic (EMS) squad, and the Port Washington Police Department have continued to selflessly serve and protect the public under riskier and more stressful-than-normal conditions amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a token of her unwavering appreciation for their efforts, Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) recently presented COVID-19 service bars to the leaders and members of these agencies in recognition of their tireless efforts throughout the public health crisis.

“Powered by their selflessness and courage, first responders got us through the bleakest moments of the pandemic, and I will always hold a place of gratitude in my heart for them,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It is such an honor to share these pins with the heroes who kept Port Washington safe and thank all of the wonderful people who gave so freely of themselves throughout the crisis.”
