(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislators Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) and Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) joined students and educators at the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Saturday, Oct. 31 for Morrison Mentors’ STEM-X Festival, which was presented in partnership with National Grid. Admission was free during the two-day event, which featured hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning experiences and demonstrations in a family-friendly setting with something for every age to enjoy.
“What our children learn through STEM education will serve as the building blocks for their success in the careers that will shape our future,” Legislator Davis said. “That is why the growth of this event is so encouraging, and I thank our friends at Morrison Mentors for their commitment to the growth of our youth.”
“Our youth deserve every opportunity to explore the world around so that they can discover their passions and build a successful, fulfilling life around the things that inspire them,” Legislator Nicks said. “Events like the STEM-X Festival make those experiences available to all of our communities, and I thank Doron Spleen and the entire Morrison Mentors team for committing themselves so fully to our future leaders!”
