(FREEPORT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D- Freeport) visited the J.W. Dodd Middle School in Freeport on Tuesday, Nov. 19, where she and partners in County government met with constituents participating in an ESL class.

Legislator Mulé was joined by Sergio Blanco from the Office of the Nassau County Comptroller; Office of Hispanic Affairs Executive Director Amy Flores, and Office of Hispanic Affairs Deputy Director Lucia Martinez. During the visit, they informed attendees about their roles and the services provided by their respective offices.

“As a social worker, I believe the field’s core professional values - which emphasize service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence - provide an invaluable compass for serving constituents,” Legislator Mulé said. “The rich cultural diversity found within Legislative District Five is a tremendous asset, and I will always remain committed to doing all I can to ensure we welcome families and connect individuals with Nassau County resources that will improve their quality of life.”

The visit was planned in partnership with Michele Cohen, Principal of Nassau BOCES’ Adult Education Programs; Ellen Stonehill of the Nassau BOCES Communications Office; and Patrick Silvestri, Assistant Principal, Nassau BOCES HSE/ABE & ESL.
