DeRiggi-Whitton - Police Graduation 1

(GLEN COVE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) proudly attended the graduation ceremony for Nassau County’s newest police officers on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Recruits completed 7 months of intense basic training at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence. Of the class of 93 graduates, 81 will be joining the Nassau County Police Department, with the remainder joining the Nassau County Sherriff’s Department and Hempstead Police Department. Graduates included Port Washington’s own Manuel E. Flores, pictured above.

“Each of these new officers have taken an oath to continue a proud tradition of excellence in law enforcement that has helped to make Nassau County the safest municipality of its size in America,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It was a pleasure to join the Flores family and all of the graduates in celebrating this milestone, and I wish them all great success and safety as they pursue the mission of serving and protecting the residents of Nassau County.”
