(WOODBURY, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) proudly attended Voices for Truth and Humanity’s sixth annual Remembrance Awards dinner at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
During the event, Rick Lewis, CEO of the Mid Island Y JCC, received the third annual Rabbi Mark Golub Person of the Year award; New York State Board of Regents Member at Large Roger Tilles discussed the introduction of New York’s first-ever Holocaust education curriculum for public schools; and Omer and Ronen Neutra, the parents of Plainview native Omer Neutra, who was killed in the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist assault upon Israel, were among the evening’s featured speakers.
“Voices for Truth and Humanity is renowned for its commitment to promoting Holocaust education in America’s public schools and combatting hatred against Jews wherever it continues to lurk,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “As the author of the legislation which created Nassau County’s task force to combat antisemitism, I am unwavering in the fight to eradicate hatred toward Jews and all forms of bigotry from our society, and I commend the evening’s outstanding honorees for their tireless efforts to advance this crucial and urgent mission.”
