(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) joined the Plainview - Old Bethpage Interfaith Clergy Council for a Thanksgiving prayer service and celebration of faith, love, culture and diversity at the Plainview Jewish Center on Wednesday, Nov. 26. The interfaith service is an annual tradition spearheaded by the Interfaith Council, which includes leadership from area Catholic, Christian, Jewish, Mormon, Muslim and Sikh congregations and community centers.
Deputy Minority Leader Drucker has attended the service for 10 consecutive years during his tenure serving Legislative District 16, and this year’s celebration filled the synagogue with faith leaders and congregants representing more than a dozen religious faiths.
“The Plainview-Old Bethpage community is a beautiful mosaic of cultures and faiths, and when we unite behind our shared values, the unbridled sense of unity, understanding and love is palpable and powerful,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “This year’s Thanksgiving gathering was one of the most heartwarming, meaningful and inspiring services I have ever attended, and it demonstrates how, if we could only duplicate this throughout our country and the world, we would live in enduring peace. I am truly thankful for the Plainview - Old Bethpage Interfaith Clergy Council and their leadership all throughout the year.”
