(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) proudly joined the community at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence on Thursday, Nov. 13 for “Honoring Our Veterans – From Uniform to Community Service”.
Borne of a partnership between NCPD Wellness, the Nassau County Veterans Services Agency and CSEA Local 830, the event featured a screening of The Warrior Ranch Foundation’s documentary, a panel discussion featuring film participants, and a presentation from Retired U.S. Army Ranger Staff Sergeant Paul Martinez and current Nassau County PD Officer Shawn Feeney. Mental health and wellness resources geared toward veterans, first responders, and County workforce members were also showcased.
“This powerful event was a sobering reminder of the sacrifices that our courageous veterans, law enforcement professionals and our first responders make on a daily basis, and underscores the importance of ensuring that every person in our community has access to specialized resources that will help them to overcome challenges and thrive,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I applaud NCPD Wellness, the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency and CSEA Local 830 for their collaborative efforts and thank CSEA Local 830 President Kris Kalender for inviting me to be a part of such a meaningful evening.”
