(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) and Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) joined hundreds of residents, community leaders, and their colleagues in government on Sunday, Oct. 5 for “Long Island Commemorates October 7 – Never Again is Now” in observance of the forthcoming two-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas terror attacks upon Israel.
During the event, which was organized by the Long Island Jewish Coalition, attendees first marched from Country Pointe in Plainview to the Mid Island Y JCC. Participants mourned the lives that were lost in the attack and renewed their prayers and demands for the safe and unconditional release of hostages taken by Hamas, including Plainview’s Omer Neutra – whose body has remained in captivity since being murdered during the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist assault.
“Two years after the atrocities of October 7, our collective feelings of heartbreak, anger, and resolve are stronger than ever – and this march through my hometown of Plainview sent a resounding message that we will not rest until Hamas terrorists lay down their arms and unconditionally release every single hostage,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “May we never forget the victims of this barbaric assault – and never waver in the fight to vanquish terror and achieve a just and lasting peace for Israel and the world.”
“Nassau County and all of Long Island have made it clear – we will never waver in our commitment to standing in solidarity with the victims of this horrific assault upon Israel,” Legislator Koslow said. “I continue to be inspired by the urgent global efforts to bring the hostages home and the strength demonstrated by the Neutra family and so many others, who have experienced a loss and a pain that no family should ever endure.”
