(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined hundreds of residents, community leaders and his partners in government on Sunday, Oct. 6 for “One Year Strong – Uniting in Grief and Resolve” in recognition of the one-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas terror attacks upon Israel.

During the event, which was organized by Run for their Lives and the Mid Island Y JCC, attendees marched from Country Pointe in Plainview to the Mid Island Y JCC for a commemorative ceremony. Participants mourned the lives that were lost in the attack and demanded the safe and unconditional release of hostages taken by Hamas, including Plainview’s Omer Neutra.

“As we commemorate one year since the horrific assault on Israel by Hamas terrorists, I was filled with emotions as we marched through Plainview,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I am infuriated that, after one year, we still don’t have these hostages home, but I am also proud of how Jewish and non-Jewish people around the country and the world have united to condemn the barbaric actions that have taken place. While the escalation of conflicts around the world are a source of tremendous concern, I know that, as long as we stand together and fight for justice, positive results will follow. Now more than ever, let’s keep the faith and stand together.”
