(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined his colleagues in government and the more than 100 members of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Seniors Club at the Jamaica Avenue School in Plainview on Friday, June 13 for the club’s annual barbecue.
As attendees heralded the arrival of summer, Deputy Minority Leader Drucker had the privilege of announcing a new $30,000 New York State Office of the Aging for the Senior Citizens Club – resources he worked in partnership with New York State Assemblymember Charles D. Lavine to secure. He also had the opportunity to honor Evelyn Jensen for her leadership, service and commitment to the community.
“While it is always a joy to kick off summer with so many of the vibrant and engaging members of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Seniors Club, this year was even more special because we were able to celebrate Assemblymember Lavine’s successful efforts to secure vital funding for our community,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “Nassau County’s seniors continue to make tremendous contributions to our society, and I am committed to doing all I can to support and advocate for these esteemed community members – just as Evelyn Jensen does through her diligent efforts to make every Seniors Club event so special. She is an embodiment of all who roll up their sleeves and make a difference each day, and I applaud them for their efforts!”
